Why do people learn English?

Nowadays English is the second language most spoken in the world, and it is the global language, so it is very important to learn English, especially for people who work in other countries or travel a lot, for pleasure or for work.

The world has become more and more dependent on English, because now people are more active than in 1950, for instance, and because technology, like the Internet, transports, communication have led us to live in a global era.
